A brief history...

As a college student in 1986, I was offered a part-time job at a local stained glass studio.  I took the job looking for extra cash but what I found was a life-long love of the art of stained glass!

After college I went on to start a family and work in the corporate world.  My love of glass was put on the back burner but never forgotten.

In 2005, I made the decision to return to stained glass full time.  I left my day job and began Sapphire Road Stained Glass.

In 2006, I began teaching stained glass at the Williamson County Park and Rec center in Franklin.  I now teach at both the Franklin Rec Center and the Longview Recreation Center in Spring Hill, Tennessee.  Teaching allows me to share my passion with others.

I have commissioned work now on display in homes throughout middle Tennessee as well as Kansas, Oklahoma, Texas, Pennsylvania, Alabama and Arkansas.

We all enjoy sharing good news and "great finds". Well, Julie Westall, past bookkeeper at CHS, has ventured out to pursue a love of hers. She is designing and selling all types of stained glass art work. She is just getting her business off the ground, but she does have a portfolio started. Julie recently visited with me one day here at home. I told her I had been wanting something for two large windows that look out into the woods of our back yard. She studied my likes, as far as how I had the room decorated, and took other elements surrounding the windows. We met and I immediately chose the first two drawings she had sketched for my approval. They were absolutely perfect! When she delivered the finished work to me, I just can't express how pleased I was! She has this wonderful talent and I wanted to share it with you. Julie has no idea (well now she does) that I am sending this "great find" out to everyone. With the holidays coming up, I just thought what a great gift to have something personalized for a family member or friend. I know some of us meet for lunch or see one another over the weekends. I will be glad to bring my two pieces for your viewing. I wish Julie the very best with her new career!
